![]() A few years ago, Justin also led his colleagues to learn more about their options for teacher representation by bringing Northwest Professional Educators in to educate staff about the "local only" teacher association model for bargaining partnered with NWPE's nonbargaining support such as liability, legal, and other professional resources. After exploring the advantages of this model, the teachers voted to decertify their local association from the WEA and NEA and established the Waterville Teacher Leadership Council as their new bargaining representative. Most of the teachers opted for NWPE membership as well. Congratulations and thank you to Justin for his exceptional professional leadership and for inspiring students and teachers alike to embrace responsibility and accountability.
