We are excited to announce that Northwest Professional Educators (NWPE) has hired Ms. Brenda Miller as our Regional Director of Outreach and Membership in Idaho!

In her new role, Ms. Miller will focus on promoting the non-union option in Idaho by spearheading recruitment efforts, advancing teacher leadership and support, and building professional partnerships.  She will be responsible for retaining and increasing membership through developing and implementing strategies for membership growth including developing and fostering professional relationships with educators, school system superintendents, central office personnel, administrators, and university education programs throughout Idaho.  She will also organize and attend meetings, workshops, conferences, fairs, and other events to expand the organization's outreach to the education community.

After hearing about NWPE’s professional vision for educators, Ms. Miller knew that she wanted to join the association and became involved with spreading the word about the non-union teacher choice movement. She has represented NWPE on education committees, at conferences, and presented NWPE grant and scholarship awards to teachers throughout the state.  She brings a wealth of experience as a veteran teacher in traditional and public charter schools and has over 20 years of education related leadership experience. She has been a leader and advocate for teachers and students in union and nonunion professional educator and parent-teacher associations and is a recipient of the Boise Education Association Friend of Education award, National PTA Honorary Life Membership, and National Endowment for the Humanities Scholarship. She has a diverse background in building school-family-community partnerships as well as in legislative advocacy.

NWPE is delighted to welcome Brenda to the NWPE team and we look forward to the great ideas, energy, and enthusiasm she brings to advancing teacher choice in Idaho!
