I always relied heavily on online lesson plan banks when I was still in the classroom. I was among the first generation of teachers that was comfortable online, and looking up ideas and inspiration online only seemed natural. Plus, since I worked at a small school, I had five preps each day meaning I had less than 10 minutes planning for each 45 minutes of content with some subjects out of my area of expertise. Turning as much planning over to someone else was a necessity just to keep my head above water.

Culinary Arts Instructor Debra Guinn, an NWPE member who teaches in Idaho's Nampa School District, was named Secondary Teacher of the Year by the Career Technical Educators of Idaho (CTEI).
This statewide award recognizes the finest career and technical teachers at the middle and secondary school level who have demonstrated innovation in the classroom, commitment to their students and dedication to the improvement of CTE in their institutions and communities.

What isn’t commonly understood by the public, or even by teachers, is that the union has wide discretion to pursue, or not pursue, the defense of its members. If the union and/or its attorney determines that they are unlikely to prevail, or the costs may be excessive, they may counsel the teacher to resign, transfer, or accept a lesser punishment.
