Boise Voters, Teachers Deserve Better

The Boise School District trustee candidates are rightfully outraged that the district gives flagrantly biased special treatment to the Boise Education Association (BEA) and its endorsed candidates. Playing favorites and barring a free exchange of information has been commonplace in the district for years.

Congratulations to NWPE members Dave Johnson, North Idaho STEM Charter Academy, and Marie McGrath, Idaho Arts Charter School!  Both have been awarded Idaho Outstanding Regional Teacher Awards for National History Day (NHD) 2014 by the Idaho Historical Society.

Today, Northwest Professional Educators (NWPE) joins with 79 partner organizations to celebrate National Employee Freedom Week (NEFW), a national campaign to promote employee rights of association.

Idaho Arts Charter School Awarded High Honors

Congratulations to our NWPE members at Idaho Arts Charter School for its continued achievements.  The Arts Schools Network (ASN), has awarded The Arts Innovation Award to the school and its Electric Rock Orchestra for "breaking the mold" in using arts in teaching academics, and for making a positive difference in the students' lives and their community.
